Are you prepared to handle a pet emergency? If not,
don’t worry – you can be! For a nominal fee and minimal time
investment, you can learn the basic emergency steps that could save your
cat’s or dog’s life in a crisis. Many chapters of the Red Cross
offer Pet First Aid Courses that combine lectures, demonstrations, hands-on
practice and videos, and cover what you should do in case of poisoning, choking,
heat strokes, electrical shocks, fractures, eye injuries, seizures, burns,
strains, animal bites and more. To find out more about these life-saving
courses, contact your local branch of the Red Cross.
